o jade Buddha statues and 10 years later, new temple was completed in 1928, which became today’s southern yard of the Jade Buddha Temple. Mater Zhenhua set Shanghai Buddhist Institute in the temple, fostering large amount of talent monks. Besides, library was built and Buddhism journals were issued to propagandize the Buddhism culture. The temple received many important visits, including the tenth panchan lama Great Master’s visit the temple in 1955.
Today’s temple is composed by two main parts: the front yard and the back yard. Key palaces are located in the front yards while the back yard is used as office area, class room and guest room. Cultural relic room collects invaluable antiques from Tang dynasty to Qing dynasty. Besides, on the wall of corridor, there are wonderful Buddhism calligraphy and paintings carved on. Gilded Buddha statues can be found on the roof of the Jade Buddha Hall.
