Huaqingchi is a hot spring pool site near the Li Mount in east of Xian. According to the history record, the spring here was found 3000 years ago. In Han dynasty (BC202---AD220), villas were built here for emperors and noblemen to entertain and in Tang dynasty (618---907), a luxurious palace named Huangqing Palace was built and the spring here then got a name Huangqing spring.

Thousands years later, the original architectures are destroyed by wars and the existing buildings are rebuild in 1959 according to the history record. When mentioned this spring, people will remember a beauty. She was the beloved concubine of Emperor Tang xuanzong. It is said that she loved spa very much. In the original Huaqing spring, there was one pool for her to enjoy. The spring here keep gushing for thousands of years and still limpid and hot, rich in various mineral elements.
