You will be driven to theTemple of Heaven in the morning. This imperial temple looks absolutely unique. 24 emperors had held sacrificing ceremonies at this imperial temple since 1420. And now, it becomes a park and local people fly kites and do exercise inside.
Next visit will be the Military Museum built in 1950’s, offering you a historic roll from ancient war to the Anti-Japanese War in 1930’s, North Korea War in 1950’s, and Sino-Vietnam War in 1970’s. This building itself is one of the 10 masterpieces of the architectural projects in 1950’s.
A city tour will be taken in afternoon by travel bus with some photo stops. A short visit of the Olympic Stadium, nicknamed ’Bird’s Nest’ and the National Aquatics Centre, better known as the ’Water Cube’. The Bird’s Nest was designed by the Swiss firm Herzog & De Meuron. This firm’s previous projects include the renovation of an old power station on the banks of the Thames in London.
Another stop will be the CCTV building with two leaning tower connected together by an “arm” in 162 meters above the ground. The bird’s nest and CCTV building are new wonders in China’s architecture history.
