Today a city tour will be taken by travel bus with some photo stops. First stop will be a short visit of the Olympic Stadium, nicknamed ’Bird’s Nest’ and the National Aquatics Centre, better known as the ’Water Cube’. The Bird’s Nest was designed by the Swiss firm Herzog & De Meuron. This firm’s previous projects include the renovation of an old power station on the banks of the Thames in London.
Then you will visit theBeijing University. Beijing University is the Chinese Cambridge, which used to be a prince’s mansion and garden in Qing dynasty, and now it becomes the top-ranking university in China. You will surely visit the garden-style campus, and have a better knowledge of the Chinese education system. You will not miss the visit of newly built gymnasium in Beijing University, which will host the ping-pong games in 2008 Olympic.
